The First New Material from the Band Since 2023
Pittsburgh indie rockers Feeble Little Horse are back with their first single since 2023. Titled “This Is Real,” the track is now available to stream below. Alongside the release, the band has announced a short tour across the United Kingdom and Europe this June.
“This Is Real” begins with a gentle, guitar-driven intro, but, true to Feeble Little Horse’s style, it eventually erupts into a noisy, feedback-drenched chorus, enhanced by frontwoman Lydia Slocum’s raw, snarling vocals. If you’re a fan of their song “Pocket” from their Girl With Fish album, you’ll feel a similar energy here.
The band shared that the writing and recording of “This Is Real” marked a shift in their creative process. Unlike their past albums, which were written with a sense of urgency, this track came together more gradually. Slocum explained in a press statement, “We wrote our past two albums with this indescribable urgency, and I think ‘This Is Real’ happened while the burner was turned to low. I wouldn’t say this track can function as a prophecy for what our sound will become for the next album, but it’s become something no other song will ever quite compare to.”
The band will embark on a short tour through Europe and the UK this June, making stops in Amsterdam, Dublin, and Paris, as well as festival appearances at Primavera Sound in Barcelona and the Outbreak Festival in the UK.
Feeble Little Horse’s second album, Girl With Fish, was released in 2023 via Saddle Creek. After listening to their latest track, revisit Consequence’s track-by-track breakdown of the album for more insights.
